Redbridge Education Awards Have Now Closed

Our annual awards ceremony, celebrating the hard work of staff in schools and early years, will be held at the Lakeview Marquee in May 2025. You can see our video from our 2024 awards ceremony here.

There are a wide range of categories that you can nominate someone for. Please take a look at each one and nominate the person or people you think truly deserve that award.

Nominations can be made by anyone:

Redbridge Education Award Categories & Voting

Champion for Change

The Champions for Change Award is for an individual or team who is driving change which is having positive change in Redbridge. This may be a particular project or activity that has made a real difference to children and young people or their local community. They may have influenced decision making at a local, regional or national level, participated in campaigns or made a difference through their leadership.

Childminder of the Year

Our local childminders deserve recognition for the difference they make to children and young people in Redbridge. They often provide opportunities to children that they may not otherwise have and allow parents and carers to pursue their career or other duties. If your childminder has made a real difference to you or your child(ren), then please nominate them so their achievements can be celebrated.

Community Contribution

The Champion for Change Award is for an individual or team that is driving change which is having positive change in Redbridge. This award is for anyone working in schools or early year settings who has made a positive impact and significant change in education through an initiative of their own. This could be an impact on certain students, the classroom, the setting as a whole or even on other educators/colleagues or young people in Redbridge generally.

Digital Innovator of the Year

The Digital Innovator of the Year is for a team or individual who has used technology to enhance teaching and learning. Digital technologies can be used in many creative ways within education to improve teaching and learning outcomes and to bring new, unique opportunities and experiences for learning to students. The team or individual who are showcasing technology as a positive force for good are role models for the teaching profession and young people.

Employee of the Year - Non Teaching

• Early Years (nursery or pre-school) • Primary School • Secondary School • Special School or Alternative provision

The Employee of The Year Award (with categories for Early Years is for someone who works in an education setting, but not in a teaching capacity. This could include teaching or classroom assistants, administrative staff, librarians – anyone who is helping to inspire and encourage students in their education and wider ambitions. This member of staff creates passion and excitement amongst their students and fosters the young people’s enthusiasm to strive to achieve their full potential. They support the young person’s learning and their student’s ambitions, helping them to achieve their best.

Inclusivity Award

Employee of the Year - non teaching • Early Years (nursery or pre-school) • Primary School • Secondary School • Special School or Alternative provision The Employee of The Year Award is for someone who works in an education setting, but not in a teaching capacity. This could include teaching or classroom assistants, administrative staff, librarians – anyone who is helping to inspire and encourage students in their education and wider ambitions. The Leadership Award is for an individual or team who enables and motivates their staff to provide excellent education and support to children. This first-class leader(s) has a clear vision for their setting and creates an environment that fosters learning and encourages children and young people to be inquisitive and achieve their best. As a result of their leadership, children and young people have had the best start in education and are set for extraordinary futures.

Lifetime Contribution Award

The Lifetime Contribution Award is for an individual who has contributed for 10+ years to the education of children and young people in Redbridge. This individual has worked tirelessly to help raise the educational standard of children and young people in Redbridge. They are a source of inspiration to their colleagues and engage well with parents, other schools, and the local community.

Teacher of the Year - Non Teaching

• Primary School • Secondary School • Special School or Alternative provision – Primary School

The Leadership Award is for an individual or team who enables and motivates their staff to provide excellent education and support to children.
